Jurgen Klopp has pushed back against reports linking him to Real Madrid, calling the stories unfounded while acknowledging he could one day return to the touchline.
Speaking at the Magenta TV World Cup presentation in Munich, Klopp said neither he nor his agent has been contacted by the Spanish club and described the speculation as without basis.
The 58-year-old stepped away from Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season and has not taken another managerial job since.
He now works as head of global football for Red Bull but insisted he has not retired from coaching.
Klopp left Anfield after saying he had run out of energy, despite having a contract that would have run until 2026.
During his decade at Liverpool he delivered a Champions League title, the club’s first league championship in 30 years, plus domestic cups and international trophies.
He also reiterated a previous promise: he will never manage a different club in England.
Before his Liverpool era, Klopp built his reputation in Germany with Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, where he won consecutive Bundesliga titles.
For now there is nothing concrete on Klopp’s next move, but he made clear that stepping back from day-to-day coaching is not necessarily permanent and that future opportunities remain possible.
