Following Viola Davis’ turn as POTUS in Amazon Prime Video’s G20 (which is streaming now), it’s John Cena turn as US president in the new Heads of State trailer.

Playing a former action movie star akin to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who’s won the White House, President Will Derringer has an uneasy special relationship with Idris Elba’s Sam Clarke, the UK Prime Minister.

That is until “they become targets of a powerful enemy [and are] forced to rely on each other as they go on a wild, multinational run.

“Allied with Noel, a brilliant MI6 agent (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), they must find a way to thwart a conspiracy that threatens the free world.”

Check out the first trailer above, which looks like a ton of fun reuniting The Suicide Squad stars. Although we hate to break it to Amazon, but it’s actually the King who is the British Head of State. (Perhaps he’ll get involved in a sequel?) Amazon MGM Studios added: “The film combines fast-paced action sequences and creative stunts with a heavy dose of nostalgia fit with all of the 90s charm of the golden era of buddy action comedies.”

Heads of State is streaming on Amazon Prime Video from July 2, 2025.
