Sainsbury's make major change across their UK supermarkets and customers are fuming | UK | News

Sainsbury’s has removed a key feature in the stores across the UK, and the shoppers are not happy with it. The UK’s popular supermarket chain has reportedly closed the facility for changing rooms, a move that has not gone down well with the customers.

This means those buying clothes from the supermarket chain’s TU clothing range will have to try them on at home and return those that don’t fit. The change was reportedly introduced in September last year. Shoppers have now been calling the entire process “such a pain” and expressing their frustration on social media.

Disgruntled shoppers have been slamming the supermarket chain on social media with one of them saying: “You've just lost another customer".

Another one posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “@sainsburys #sainsburys Why have all the changing rooms been closed?

"My wife won’t buy anything she can’t try on as it’s a trek to return anything. You are losing sales."

Another one wrote: "@sainsburys why spend money on building new changing rooms at Cobham Sainsbury’s & then close them!

"So you expect me to spend extra money to buy multiple sizes and then make another trip to return the items I don’t need.

"Well done Sainsbury’s you’ve just lost another customer."

A Sainsbury's spokesman told Mail Online: "This is to ensure we are delivering the best possible shopping experience for our customers.

"Customers are increasingly choosing to try on items at home and last year we reviewed how we use our fitting room space differently to offer the best possible experience when they shop with us.

"Customers can return any unsuitable or faulty items during their store visits."

However, Sainsbury's is not the only one that has got rid of the changing rooms in recent years. The facility has been missing from Tesco and Asda as well, with it being understood that Tesco got rid of the feature, for its F&F clothing range, a number of years ago.

Express.co.uk has contacted Sainsbury's for a comment.
