The summer transfer window has been taken up a notch this week. Premier League clubs are now intensifying their efforts in the market in the hope of striking deals and signing players so that they can be bedded into their respective teams for pre-season.

After weeks of talks, Manchester United have now finally reached an agreement with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo, whilst Arsenal’s talks with Sporting over a deal for Viktor Gyokeres appear to be moving in the right direction for all parties. Then, of course, Liverpool have kickstarted a saga involving both Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike in their search to sign a new No. 9.
