Chris Cooper, a lawn specialist at lawnmower company Hayter, revealed that a potential to boost your home's value could be hidden in your garden. He said: "A well-maintained and landscaped garden can add up to 20% to your home, dramatically improving the final evaluation."

It makes perfect sense for homeowners looking to boost their property values, as many people pride themselves on having a beautiful garden where they can spend spring and summer days, enjoy barbecues, and host outdoor gatherings with family and friends.

While many might believe they need to spend hundreds of pounds sorting out their outdoor space, Chris's easy tip reveals that it isn't the case at all; it simply requires giving your garden some regular TLC.

Chris explained: "To achieve a well-sculpted look quickly, you must start by making sure your lawn is neatly cut, weeded and well-presented with a planted border.

"Make sure you leave a minimum of one-third of your grass height to keep the lawn healthy, and in summer, make sure to mow every one to one-and-a-half weeks if the weather is especially warm."

In total, an average-price property with a well-maintained garden can cost an impressive £58,000, and that's before factoring in garden buildings.

If you want to add even more value to your home, the expert revealed that garden additions such as a garden office, annexe, and sheds can increase the value of your home by up to a huge 30%.
