The force said: "We are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious collision on the A30 near Camborne.

"At around 11.55pm on 4 July we were notified of a collision involving a pedestrian and a Ford Mondeo towing a caravan on the A30 Westbound near Roseworthy.

"The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, has sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

"The A30 Westbound in the area at remains closed this morning while we continue to work at the scene.

"It is anticipated that it will reopen mid/late morning. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area where possible and to expect traffic disruption this morning.

"Investigating officers from the Roads Policing Team ask that anyone who witnessed the incident, has information or relevant dashcam footage, please to report it to police.

"Information can be reported by calling 101 or via our website quoting reference 50250171783."
