Drivers on the M25 are experiencing delays after a crash and a reported fuel spill. The Dartford Crossing has been closed and will remain shut off for several hours as Essex Police assist National Highways with the clean-up. The incident involved a lorry and has resulted in a fuel spillage. Drivers have been told to expect delays of around 50 minutes.

The collision happened between Junction 31 and Junction 1a, and traffic has been stopped since 11.05am today. Those travelling southbound on the M25/A282 are being diverted through the east bore of the tunnel. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said this afternoon: "M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise closed, severe delays due to accident, a lorry and a car involved and fuel spillage from J31 A1306 (Lakeside / Purfleet) to J1a A206 (Dartford). Congestion to J28 A12 (Brook Street Roundabout), A13 queues back to Wennington and Grays, and either side through Thurrock and Purfleet."
