Carlos Alcaraz has joined Emma Raducanu in becoming a global brand ambassador for Evian, having also confirmed themselves as doubles partners for the US Open later this year. Both Alcaraz and Raducanu are now working with with the same sponsor, having opened up on their relationship in the past few weeks.

Their warm-natured responses to questions about the other player have prompted romance rumours, which both stars have played down, but insisted they are good friends and are looking forward to competing on the same side at Flushing Meadows in a star-studded mixed doubles cast.

Evian has sponsored Wimbledon since 2008 and now has the defending champion on board, as Alcaraz said: "Live Young’ ethos, is something I connect with both on and off the court. It’s about embracing life with energy, and a positive mindset - values I respect and try to live by. Hydration is an important part of my daily routine and I’m excited to work with a brand that celebrates the joy of feeling youthful and full of life. I hope we can inspire others to prioritise their well-being.”

He is set to partner with the brand to inspire people of all ages to "adopt a holistic approach to well-being - starting with the fundamental step of healthy hydration."

Raducanu has been the face of Evian since winning the US Open in 2021 and becoming a household name, having since starred in adverts including one alongside pop star Dua Lipa.

Last year, Raducanu starred in a new Mountain of Earth campaign alongside fellow ambassador Frances Tiafoe, describing the year as a "fresh start."

She will be hoping to follow Alcaraz into the latter stages of Wimbledon, despite suffering from a back injury and receiving some "pretty bad news" recently.

Attention will then turn to the hard court and the prospect of Raducanu and Alcaraz teaming up at the US Open, with both players excited at the prospect of playing together.

After being told by a BBC interviewer that a joke by many online is that Alcaraz and Raducanu are "destined for each other" she laughed and replied: "I'm glad the internet is having fun and we're providing entertainment for everyone.

"I've known him for years and actually in Wimbledon 2021 it was like kind of the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021."

The Brit also revealed that Alcaraz was the one who instigated their mixed doubles partnership, with Raducanu keeping him waiting before eventually accepting.

"He asked me earlier in the year and I was very surprised and honoured and obviously excited," she said. "I just went through the formality of asking my coach, but of course I was going to say yes."

After Raducanu watched Alcaraz's match at Queen's in person, he said: “I just asked Emma if she wants to play doubles with me – I made that special request. She’s going to be the boss. I’ve known Emma for a really long time and I have a really good relationship with her. We will try to win. But obviously it’s going to be really, really fun.”
