These are very tough tablets to topple, but the team at Chinese brand OnePlus is hoping its latest gadget will offer an impressive Android alternative. The latest OnePlus Pad 3 has just gone on sale in the UK today and comes packed with features including the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite processor from Qualcomm. This latest and greatest brain offers gains of over 40 percent over previous Android chips.

There's also a 13.2-inch 3.4K ultra-vibrant display, superfast charging and a massive battery that should mean it lasts the longest of long-haul flights.

It's worth noting that this is not a budget tablet with prices starting from £529 for the 256GB model - that's only just cheaper than the iPad Air.

However, to make things seem a little more enticing for consumers, OnePlus is running some very tempting promotions that Apple won't currently match.
