Steam customers looking to buy some new games might want to hold off for a few days before making a purchase.

One of the biggest video game sales of the calendar is about to make its debut, with the Steam Summer Sale kicking off on June 26.

The Steam Summer Sale features hundreds, if not thousands of discounts on a selection of new and classic games. Indeed, if you've got lots of titles on your Steam Wishlist, then it's likely they'll receive a discount during the Summer Sale.

Previous Summer Sales have seen first-party games like Left 4 Dead and Portal reduced to next to nothing, while huge third-party blockbusters like Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy have been discounted by 50 to 75%.

There's usually a Steam Deck section of the sale, which features discounts on games that are fully verified for Valve's popular handheld device.

Unlike some of the smaller Steam Sales, the Summer Sale runs for two weeks, meaning you have plenty of time to take advantage of the discounts.

This year's Summer Sale is pencilled in from June 6 until July 10, with more details expected to be revealed during the coming days.

In the meantime, PC gamers looking for a new gaming fix might want to check out the Epic Games Store, where Two Point Hospital is currently being given away for free.

To claim your free copy of Two Point Hospital, simply visit the Epic Games Store, where the game is available as the latest weekly giveaway.

Indeed, in its bid to compete with Steam as the number one PC gaming platform, Epic gives away at least one game for free every week.

Two Point Hospital is free from now until 4pm BST UK time on June 19, when it will be replaced by The Operator (which is also worth checking out).

Once you visit the Epic Games Store and have logged into your account, head over to the Two Point Hospital page and click the 'GET' button to add it to your library.

Once Two Point Hospital has been added to your library, it's yours to download and keep, no strings attached.

Two Point Hospital is the latest in a long line of premium freebies on the Epic Games Store. The company recently gave away the likes of Dead Island 2, as well as Sifu, Limbo and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

Steam, meanwhile, is about to launch its Fishing Fest event, which means fishing games will be discounted from June 16 until June 23.
