Exeter tops the list as the priciest city to enjoy fish and chips, with an average cost of £16.55 – nearly double the price in Manchester. London follows closely behind at £16.29, proving that the capital’s living costs extend to its takeaways.

The South West is clearly a luxury hot spot for chip shops, with Torquay (£15.60) and Bristol (£13.99) also featuring high on the list. Other premium-priced locations include Ipswich (£13.86), Bournemouth and Southend-on-Sea (both £13.43), and Cambridge (£13.37). Belfast rounds out the top ten with an average cost of £13.21.

Manchester tops the list as the most budget-friendly spot for a portion of fish and chips, averaging just £8.94. Walsall (£9.17) and Dundee (£9.47) round out the top three, coming in second and third place, respectively.

Other affordable spots include Derby (£9.70), Bradford (£9.87) and Stoke-on-Trent (£9.88), all offering classic chippy fare for under a tenner. Scotland’s second city, Glasgow, makes the list at number 10 with an average price of £10.37.
