Having an outdoor space as the temperatures heat up is a real luxury for anyone lucky enough to own one. But whilst enjoying your lovely garden, many value their privacy and don't want neighbours to be able to see in. To remedy this, one social media user decided to take matters into her own hands and revealed a novel way of keeping roaming eyes at bay by fencing off her outdoor space.

Steph Varnie realised her wooden panelled fence had many large spaces between the panels and was on a mission to cover it up. Off to B&M she went and was able to solve her spaced-out fence, allowing for more privacy, and it only cost her £18.

Turns out a lack of privacy in UK gardens is a common complaint with factors such as being such close proximity to neighbours, having a small plot size or having legal limitations when it comes to creating barriers.

Fortunately, there are many ways around this, with Varnie revealing she used a Split Bamboo Screening as the solution.

"Let's get some screening up," wrote the TikTok user with the hashtag privacy screen added to her video.

In the clip, Varnie shows herself putting up the screening along her fence to create more privacy.

Adding a screen to your fence helps enhance privacy, as it creates a barrier that limits visibility into your garden.

Any type of screening can be used, including slatted fences, solid panels, or even natural screening, such as planting climbing vines or hedges on a trellis.

Best of all, these additions are often quite simple to do, with Varnie declaring this easy DIY task only required the use of a staple gun to secure it in place.

Varnie’s bamboo screen, which she used, was two metres in length, which meant there was still a small gap that went uncovered.

The clip was posted to her TikTok account @steph_varnie and received well over 162k views and 300 likes, with many praising the TikToker for her “amazing” tip.
