As the days become longer and the temperature increases, the nation is spending more and more time outside. However, with this comes clothing stains, which can show up on white clothing.

Whether this is from sweat, deodorant or sunscreen, stubborn yellow marks can be stubborn to remove. Sometimes, even after washing them at a hot temperature, yellow stains will still be present. Luckily, cleaning experts at Shark Clean have shared their top removal tips for tackling these stains this spring.

The experts said: “Choose an oxygen-powered stain remover, or make a paste from baking soda and water.

“Brush your stain remover onto the yellow areas to target them.” Baking soda is a natural way to remove marks, and it can be purchased for as little as 60p from supermarkets.

Bicarbonate of soda, or baking soda, removes stains by acting as an absorbent, neutraliser, and a mild abrasive.

Simply allow the treatment to work for 20 minutes, or for more stubborn marks, leave the treatment overnight.

Then, wash the clothing item on your usual cycle in the washing machine, repeating the steps if necessary.

If you’re suffering from sun cream marks, usually around the neck, the experts recommend using washing detergent and hot water.

The experts said: “Fill a sink or bowl with hot water and washing powder, following the manufacturer’s instructions for quantities, or substitute washing powder for white vinegar.”

Place the item in the mixture and leave it to soak for a little while before moving onto the next step.

For stubborn marks, choose an oxygen-powered stain remover, or make a paste from baking soda and water.

Brush the stain remover onto the yellow areas to target them, soaking them for at least 30 minutes before rinsing with clean water.

Then, wash on your usual cycle in the washing machine, repeating the treatment as necessary.

Make sure the clothing items are fully dry before evaluating the results.
