You too can have a living room fit for a king, as the Highgrove Estate is now selling home décor to make our domestic pads more palatial – but with a price tag to match. The range of comfy cushions and posh lamps is inspired by plants
found in the monarch’s garden, but at the princely sum of between £155 and £300.

The cushions, designed by interiors company Sanderson, founded in 1860, are 100% natural cotton or cotton and hemp, with feather stuffing. The Stumpery Cushion is the most expensive of the range, on sale at a whopping £195. The website said it is “inspired by one of the most enchanting areas of Highgrove” and “brings the garden’s magical atmosphere indoors”.

It added: “Based on the Victorian tradition of growing ferns amongst fallen tree stumps, The Stumpery reflects the beauty of renewal – where nothing goes to waste and life flourishes from every crack and crevice. The design, featuring fabric from the Highgrove by Sanderson collection, captures its distinctive features.

“Tigga the willow sculpture, a charming thatched treehouse, a wall of stones gifted to His Majesty, and the mystical Wood Nymph, Goddess of the Wood. Finished with a rich green Norton fringe edge, this cushion combines elegance with character, making it a striking addition to any home.”

Other designs include the £175 Shand Gate cushion, a homage to the 18th century Indian gates at the entrance to the garden and the £165 Hydrangea and Rose cushion, “inspired by the flourishing roses of the Sundial, Carpet, and Lily Pool Gardens”, beside “hydrangeas that thrive in the Stumpery, Azalea Walk, and Arboretum”.

The cheapest option is the UK-made The Apothecary Rose Cushion at £155, inspired by the Highgrove Rose that climbs the house’s façade. The range also extends to lighting, and the online shop said: “Perfect for both modern and traditional interiors, these bespoke lampshades are available only through Highgrove, offering a distinctive touch of British craftsmanship and royal heritage.”

Large lampshades featuring either The King’s Rose, an English Shrub Rose named in honour of King Charles III or the symbolic Highgrove Crown are on sale for £150. Smaller versions also designed in Sussex by British artist Jane McCall cost £100, but a matching lamp base also made in Sussex will set you back a further £150.
