Donald Trump was caught in an awkward exchange with his wife Melania onboard Marine One overnight where the couple appeared to gesticulate and disagree with each other while unaware they were on camera. The footage was filmed on Wednesday night as the pair made their way home from the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
At one point, 79-year-old Trump points a finger at Melania, 55, as the pair continue their conversation seated across from one another. She then violently shakes her head. The pair then get up and walk out of the presidential helicopter and across the White House's South Lawn holding hands. The couple faced several tense moments ahead of Trump's address at the UN headquarters. He and Melania stepped onto an escalator that froze almost immediately, forcing them to walk up the steps instead.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS STORY AND IS BEING CONSTANTLY UPDATED.
Addressing the incident, a UN spokesperson said that a videographer from the American delegation accidentally triggered the escalator's stop mechanism, causing the issue.
Shortly after walking up the escalator, the president's teleprompter seemingly malfunctioned while he was preparing to make an address to other world leaders, prompting him to stall for around 15 seconds after mocking the staffer in charge of managing the device.
"I can only say that whoever's operating this teleprompter is in big trouble," he said.
