Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appeared on Fox News' Special Report, hosted by Bret Baier, following his meeting with President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.

Baier questioned Zelensky about whether he would accept territorial losses, given that President Donald Trump had stated any peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine would inevitably involve Ukraine "losing some territories."

He pressed Zelensky on what compromises he might be prepared to make. The news emerges as Russia issues chilling five-word response to Trump's Ukraine War threat.

"Today, we had a good conversation with President Trump and I think he understands today that we can't just swap territories", Zelensky responded.

"It is not fair", he added, reports the Express US.

"I think it is not about territories. It is about the position of Putin. He will continue, it will give him more than he really wants."

Zelensky argued that halting the conflict required curtailing Putin's ambitions.

"To change his position on this war."

Following Tuesday's meeting with Zelensky, Trump declared his belief that Ukraine could triumph in the conflict and reclaim all lost territory.

These comments represent a departure from his previous position that Zelensky "doesn't have the cards", contending that time favoured Russia and that Moscow was prevailing in the war.

He had also previously pressed Zelensky to cede territory to Russia in order to secure an agreement ending the four year old conflict.

"After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia Military and Economic situation and, after seeing the Economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form," Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social account following his meeting with Zelensky.

During his hour-long address at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump took aim at Russian leader Vladimir Putin for his "bad leadership", issuing new threats of "powerful tariffs" against Moscow.

He criticised Russia's war in Ukraine, stating it was "making them look bad" as it was "supposed to be a little skirmish".

"It shows you what leadership is, what bad leadership can do to a country. The only question now is how many lives will be needlessly lost on both sides," he continued, alleging that Russian forces have been killing between 5,000 and 7,000 young soldiers "on both sides every single week".
