Outlander star Sam Heughan has delivered thrilling news to his followers on social media, following a startling revelation from co-star Caitríona Balfe while his fans were left astonished by a vintage photograph from his early career days, reports the Daily Record.
The 45 year old Scottish actor shared a video on Instagram with the caption: "Join us for this years [sic] @mypeakchallenge step challenge celebrating 10 years of Peaking!
"Supporting @bloodcancer_uk we are virtually walking the 10 highest munros/mountains in Scotland, Join the team and don't forget to FLEX."
In the footage, he declared: "Good morning from sunny yet blustery London and I'm getting my steps in for the Munro Step Challenge."
Sporting a red My Peak Challenge T-shirt, he gestured towards the emblem: "Ten years of MPC. Every year, if you didn't know, for the last eight years, we've supported Blood Cancer UK and the amazing research and the work they do to beat blood cancer.
"We virtually walked all over the world, we've walked to the Moon, we've walked around the world.
"This year, we're doing 10 of the highest munros in Scotland, so you can do it wherever you are. Come with us, purchase one of these fabulous T-shirts, all the profits go to Blood Cancer UK and helps support the amazing work they do.
"If you didn't know, MPC, it's our 10th anniversary. We have raised over $7million for charities. We've planted over 700,000 trees, we've given out meals at food banks, we've supported ocean conservation, World Wildlife Fund, it's been incredible.
"Our Peakers have risen to the challenge, we want you to come and join us. Get one of these T-shirts, get your steps in and, most importantly, don't forget to get your T-shirt and flex for MPC. See you this September!"

The video comes as Heughan is busy preparing to tread the boards at Stratford-Upon-Avon for the Royal Shakespeare Company's upcoming production of Macbeth.
Heughan will be appearing in the Scottish play opposite The Crown's Lia Williams, who portrays Lady Macbeth.
Along with his fitness and charity work, Heughan also has his drinks line Sassenach Spirits, which he is often busy promoting.
On top of that, his new book The Cocktail Diaries: A Spirited Adventure is out this autumn.
