Singer Dionne Warwick has issued an urgent health update after suffering “unbearable” pain – which caused her to cancel a string of gigs. The Walk On By hitmaker, 84, flew to London for the Soul Town Festival but was forced to pull out of her scheduled appearance due to health woes. Now she has confirmed she was rushed for emergency surgery.
Now Dionne has explained to fans: “As most of you may know, I’ve had to cancel a few shows due to emergency leg surgery. I’m doing okay, do not worry! However, I need some show/movie recommendations while on the mend. Not Emily in Paris. Love you all.”
She clarified she has “no interest” in the Netflix hit, joking: “Her work visa has definitely expired by now!”
Dionne had suffered “unbearable” pain leading up to the surgery, explaining: “The last thing I expected was to have surgery the day I was to fly to London. Pain was unbearable and my doctor rushed me into surgery thank goodness, as it could’ve resulted in something far worse.”
Addressing fans left disappointed by her axing her festival appearance, she said: “Hopefully we can do this festival again in the future, and I’ll be walking like a normal person. Please keep me in prayer and I’ll see you soon. Until next time, thanks for your understanding. Luv ya all! Dionne.”
