Dubai royal Sheikha Mahra Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum is engaged to American rapper French Montana, a representative has announced. Sheikha Mahra, who is the only daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, was previously married and announced her divorce just one year ago.

Best known for his 2017 single "Unforgettable", French Montana - whose real name is Karim Kharbouch - was previously been romantically linked to Khloe Kardashian. It has been revealed that French Montana proposed during Paris Fashion Week back in June.

The couple were first connected in October 2024 when the royal shared photos on social media showing her giving the rapper a tour of Dubai.

Sheikha Mahra, 31, was previously married to Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.

Their separation was annoucement in July 2024 via the royal's strongly-worded Instagram post.

She wrote: "Dear Husband. As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I Divorce You.”

She concluded the statement by writing, "Take care. Your ex-wife."

The Instagram post was noted for its similarity to the Islamic practice of “triple talaq". This is a traditional method whereby Muslim men can end a marriage by repeating the phrase three times.

According to the BBC, only men are able to do so.

Just a month later, Sheikha Mahra appeared to confirm the end of her marriage by posting a selfie with her daughter, who was born in May 2024. The picture was captioned: "Just the two of us."
