A woman in her 30s tragically died after being pulled from the sea in Blackpool on Bank Holiday Monday. Emergency services rushed to the Promenade, opposite the Belvedere Hotel in Blackpool, yesterday.
Lancashire Police, HM Coastguard, and the town’s beach patrol all attended the scene. Officers confirmed a woman in her 30s was treated on-site and taken to hospital, where she later tragically died. Her next of kin has been informed. Police say her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A force spokesperson said: "We were called at around 10am on August 25 after reports a woman had been pulled from the sea opposite the Belvedere Hotel in Blackpool.
"Despite the efforts of emergency services at the scene and in hospital, she sadly passed away.
"The woman, in her thirties, has now been identified and her family informed. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner."
