Despite a mixed reception to season one of Meghan Markle's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan on Netflix it was deemed successful enough to be granted a second series which lands on the streaming service on August 26. These new episodes promise the Duchess of Sussex will be welcoming even more celebrity friends as guests including model Chrissy Teigen, Queer Eye's Tan France, chef David Chang, and author and life coach Jay Shetty.
Much like the first series teasers claim season two will draw on Meghan's "years of home cooking and entertaining...to show us how to experiment with bold flavours in the kitchen, and approach doable but delightful DIYs that fill our cups — as well as satisfy our appetites." Although her suggestions were declared a "waste of time" she clearly thinks she has found a winning formula. The series is also no doubt guaranteed to bring us many more of the jaw dropping and meme worthy moments that were so prevalent in the first series. In case you have forgotten them Express.co.uk has compiled a reminder.
One of the most derided moments on the show was when Meghan suggested making rainbow fruit platters for children's breakfast with a sprinkle of petals as a "sweet" way to start the weekend.
She seemed oblivious to the fact the idea was widely available on Pinterest and other lifestyle sites brazenly acting as if the concept was all her own. "You don't have to do a big platter of this... you could do this with one small row for your kids for breakfast," she enthused ignoring the fact that the copious amounts of fresh fruit invovled made it unaffordable for many families who are struggling in the cost of living crisis.
She had many detrators on X inclding one who slammed the concept. "There's nothing wrong with doing a cookery show if she wants to actually cook. But this is just silly, fakery, lifestyle stuff, arranging fruit and then calling it a rainbow platter, which everyone else calls a fruit salad," they fumed.
(Image: Netflix)One of Meghan's guests on season one wasAmerican actress and comedian Mindy Kaling, 45, who also appeared on her podcast Archetypes. She showed her how to host a children's party and Mindy referred to her as Meghan Markle on several occassions during their chat. The former actress hit back: “It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now.”
This was the first time she had publicly addressed her surname since her wedding to Prince Harry and surprised many people who took to X to claim she was incorrect.
"Had you stayed in the UK? Sure. You just decided a year or so ago to use Sussex for your mystery kids. The pretentious arrogance is WILD. Titles mean nothing here. Deal with it," one wrote.
Another replied: “Your last name is Windsor-Mountbatten, Sussex is your title! A prestigious name for this moron who appreciates nothing."
A third commented: “She doesn't even know her name. It's not Sussex; that is not what she has on her children's birth certificates."
(Image: Netflix)The humble cup of tea is a British staple but Meghan's take on it left more than a few people scratching their heads. Far be it for her to boil a basic kettle - Meghan explained how she elevates the drink by making "sun tea".
Just as strange a concept as it sounds she explained: "Sun tea is something I've been making for a very long time. I made it as a kid and now I make it with my own kids. It's really easy, it's just tea. You can use nice silk bags, lots of loose leaf tea and you just let it steep with the warmth of the sun.
"As a kid I was taking a bag of tea from the drawer in my house and putting it in a mason jar or probably an empty jar that once held spaghetti sauce. And putting it in the sun and sitting there like this, waiting for it to change colour, which funny enough is what Archie does now."
Aside from sounding extremely unhygenic and time consuming the UK weather has certainly ensured people weren't rushing to copy this tip.
