Peter Andre has expressed his admiration over his son Junior for taking time away from music in favour for a "quiet season", after Junior shared a statement on his social media. The Mysterious Girl hitmaker, 52, is father to Junior, 20, and daughter Princess, 18, with his former wife Katie Price, whom he recently criticised in a scathing statement concerning their children's living situations.
Peter's remarks came after Katie's call for peace talks after she lashed out at Peter and his management team, The CAN Group, alleging she had been 'prohibited' from participating in Princess's documentary series, The Princess Diaries. Following Peter's declaration in which he stated, "I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family", the former couple's daughter, Princess, broke her silence.
When questioned about her parents' relationship on Snapchat, she revealed: "To be honest it doesn't affect me. At the end of the day, they broke up when I was two years old so I don't even have any memory of them being together."
In contrast, Peter and Katie's son Junior has kept quiet on the family drama. However, last week Junior published a statement explaining his choice to embrace a "lowkey" period in his life, reported the Mirror.
He penned on Instagram: "Sometimes the most quiet seasons are the most powerful ones. I've been moving in silence, learning, growing, making moves you haven't seen yet.
"I think about you all more than you know....and when the times right, you'll understand why I've been so lowkey. My time is coming and when it does, we're all going up together."
In his exclusive column for new magazine, Peter Andre, the singer and father of three children with wife Emily, expressed his pride over his son.
Peter penned: "For those who saw Junior's post on his socials, he said, the 'quiet seasons are the most powerful ones,' and I know he means it.
"After achieving success in music, he took a step back – to experience being a real teenager. He moved in with his girlfriend and has been relishing life. Knowing J, he'll show the world what he's capable of. He's a gifted songwriter.
"As his father, naturally, I'll always offer work advice, but he follows his own path and I admire that. He will do things at his own pace."
This comes after Peter released a shocking statement about his ex-wife Katie Price. It read: "For sixteen years, I have remained silent amidst repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but maintaining silence has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.
"The recent comments about my children's welfare and living arrangements force me to clarify the situation. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and stayed with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never disclosed this before, out of respect for my children.
"In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases, found my ex-wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today.
"Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months."
Following his allegations, a representative for Katie told the Mirror: "Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn't feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she's dealing with this the right way and it's now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslight and bullied as she once was.."
