Grammy-nominated soul singer Tamar Braxton has disclosed a terrifying revelation that she "almost died" two days ago after awakening in a "pool of blood". The performer, who cites Diana Ross and Mariah Carey as musical inspirations, turned to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal a devastating accident she endured over the weekend that nearly cost her life.

Whilst she refrained from elaborating on the specifics of the incident, the 48 year old artist disclosed she awoke drenched in blood and discovered she had broken her nose, lost teeth, and experienced mobility issues.

This emerges as numerous celebrities have recently spoken candidly about their previous health battles, including actor Chad Michael Murray who revealed that he nearly perished after losing 50% of his blood. In Tamar's harrowing post, she penned: "I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can't even really talk anymore I'm so weak", reports the Mirror.

She proceeded to state, "I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood by my friend with a face injury. As the days go by it gets worse. I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility."

Tamar added: "The way I look at life now is totally different. As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins... pray for me for real [broken heart emojis]. I don't even know what happened to me [broken heart emojis]." The All the Way Home vocalist shared an excerpt from the Bible on her Instagram Story, specifically Proverbs 31.

This concluding chapter in the Book of Proverbs outlines the characteristics of strong and virtuous women, highlighting wisdom, diligence, and compassion.

Beneath her latest Instagram post, which reached her 6.1 million followers, supporters sent well-wishes and prayers for a swift recovery.

One fan wrote, "Praying for you sis so sorry."

Another supporter penned, "Praying for strength and healing speedy recovery."

A third follower added, "Praying so glad you are still here." Tamar has faced multiple health challenges over the years, including vitiligo, pulmonary emboli, and thoracic outlet syndrome.

She's also been candid about her mental health battles, including severe depression and anxiety, as well as a suicide attempt in 2020.

This health announcement arrives as Tamar is presently touring the US, with a forthcoming performance on 27 September in Atlanta, Georgia and another on 19 November in Detroit, Michigan.

The Grammy-nominated performer, who was formerly a member of The Braxtons, has delivered several chart-toppers throughout her musical career, including Love and War, The Boss, The One, Pieces, Let Me Know, Prettiest Girl, among others.
