Comedian and TV legend Jimmy Tarbuck has previously been open about his prostate cancer battle, after he was diagnosed in February 2020. During an appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain last year, Jimmy was quizzed by Susanna Reid about living with the disease. He remembered going to the doctors and recalled: "They said a nice thing to me at the Marsden, I salute the Marsden and the NHS. They looked after me, and they said, 'Sit down, how are you feeling?' I said I feel great."
He then said in a heartbreaking admission that doctors told him he has cancer, but it won't necessarily be the cause of his death; he'll die with it, not from it. Discussing this, he remarked: "I said, 'I'll buy that. Put me down for one of those please'."
In another emotional confession during the segment, Jimmy also discussed an unusual agreement with singer Sir Tom Jones. Regarding their funerals, Ed Balls asked, "Are you going to sing at each other's funerals?"
Jimmy chuckled and replied to him: "I said, If I sing at yours, it won't be the same as you. You'll sing and they'll all throw knickers at you!"
