Gary and Wayne Lineker finally buried the hatchet following a remarkable new photograph of the siblings that has taken social media by storm. The Leicester-born brothers have barely exchanged words for 17 years following reports that Wayne couldn't stand Gary's former partner, Danielle Bux. It appears they've now drawn a line under their differences after former BBC star Gary, 64, turned up to Wayne's daughter Tia's extravagant wedding celebrations in Majorca over the weekend.
Wayne shared a picture of him with his arm around his brother, penning: "Great to see my bro and my nephews at my daughter's wedding."
The development comes as the football legend's niece disclosed Wayne's meaningful contribution to her special occasion, reports the Mirror.
Money was clearly no object at the opulent celebration, with Tia sharing images of the stylish wedding gathering and her new spouse, Harry Agombar, writing: "Mr and Mrs Agombar 10.08.25."
Responding in the comments section, Wayne penned: "Incredible my princess. Best day ever .. love from the father of the bride."
The reunion follows Gary and Wayne's reconciliation in June at the England icon's son Harry's Ibiza wedding ceremony.
Donning comparable linen outfits to those they wore at the weekend, the duo were photographed enjoying drinks as they seemed to set aside their long-standing rift.
Yet their relationship hasn't always been so cordial, with Wayne telling The Sun back in 2015: "Gary is no longer a part of my life."
The nightclub proprietor insisted he was baffled when their regular weekly telephone chats and house calls ceased suddenly – but he attributes it to an uncomfortable initial meeting with Danielle, whom Gary wed in 2009 before their divorce in 2016.
"They came to Ibiza in August 2008 and it was really awkward. I didn't spark with Danielle and our relationship was cold," said Wayne.
Gary remained silent about the rift, though Wayne did contact the ex-footballer in November, sharing sentimental photographs in Leicester, writing: "Gary and I share the most incredible memories in that house, two brothers rarely leaving each others side.
"One of my favourite memories of us is both clearing the lounge every Saturday of furniture when mum and dad were out making a goal each end just to play one on one football for hours... ofc (of course) then carefully replacing the furniture before coming home.
"They never did find out... I know for a fact that they will be looking down on us with one wish. That would be to become proper brothers again. #lifestooshort."
