Drivers on the M6 are facing delays as a crash near Greater Manchester sparks long queues. A lane is shut on the southbound carriageway between junction 21 for Irlam and Warrington and junction 20 for the M56.
Motorway cameras show tailbacks building on the motorway and drivers are warned of congestion. There are queues back towards junction 23 for the East Lancs Road at St Helens.
