The mother of Prince William’s friend who died after reportedly swallowing a bee has called for a police investigation to be launched. Rani Kapur, mother of late businessman Sunjay Kapur who died on June 12 after a suspected heart attack following the bee incident at the Duke's Ground of the Old Guards Polo Club in Surrey, believes the death may have been foul play.

In a letter to UK authorities, Rani is asking for police to carry out a deeper criminal investigation into her son’s death. She has claimed that fresh and troubling evidence has come to light that suggests there was possible foul play.

It has been reported that she believes this after finding documents and records that appear to have been forged, including legal papers and asset transfers.

As reported by India Today, Rani thinks these documents show signs of a “well-planned, international conspiracy”.

She said in her letter: “Since the date of his death, I have come into possession of records and have come across facts which point to prima facie forged legal and financial documents, dubious asset transfers and suspicious legal filings, indications of coercion or collusion between individuals who stood to gain financially from his demise.

“There are also compelling reasons to believe that his death may have been facilitated or orchestrated as part of a coordinated transnational conspiracy, with the involvement of individuals and entities located in the UK, India and maybe the United States.”

India Today reports that Sunjay, 53, who played polo with Prince William before, was a US citizen of Indian origin.

He had financial interests in a number of countries and a “global business network”, and was chairman of global car parts giant Sona Comstar.

Rani has reportedly requested the UK police to officially register a complaint and begin a full-scale investigation.

She also wants the UK investigators to work with Indian and American agencies to explore the cross-border aspects of the case.

At the moment, Sunjay’s death has been put down to a heart attack, that is believed to have been caused by a bee stinging his mouth. It is believed this caused an anaphylactic shock that affected his heart.
