Paul Hogan has made a heartfelt confession about mortality and his final wishes as the beloved actor approaches his twilight years. The Crocodile Dundee icon, 85, has revealed his burning desire to return to his homeland before drawing his last breath. The Australian legend, who brought the unforgettable Mick Dundee to life on the big screen, relocated to Los Angeles during the nineties but now yearns to head back Down Under. It's on Australian soil where he dreams of having his ashes scattered after passing away. The seasoned performer went so far as to declare his intention to return to Australia "as soon as he possibly can" - such is his burning desire to spend his remaining days on home turf, reports the Mirror.

In conversation with 7NEWS in Australia, the cinema favourite revealed: "I want to die here. I am antique now, time just slips away." Maintaining his characteristic humour despite the serious topic, he added: "'I want my ashes scattered off the Harbour Bridge. Put that in my will."

Currently, Paul remains committed to staying in America to support his son Chance, 27, as he works to establish his professional path.

He described his son as "troubled", as he explained: "He's still trying to build his career up, and as soon as he does I will be back here. Unless he comes with me, I will be back sooner."

Recent months have seen Chance spark worry amongst his social media followers following a series of disturbing posts.

Speaking on the Today Show in May, Paul was questioned about Chance, admitting he was "alright", adding, "better than he gets."

The actor continued: "He gets a lot of tabloid stuff, but he's a terrible person because he knows they're watching him and he puts something on for them."

Despite Chance's concerning social media activity, Paul revealed to the Daily Mail last December: "It's a lot of made up stuff and a lot of it he (Chance) does on purpose."

Whilst Paul made these revelations, insiders suggested his son might support the decision. "Paul felt healthier than he had in months, and even Chance agreed that Australia had been good for them both,'" a source revealed to New Idea.

In January, Paul made an uncommon public outing as he marked the revival of the iconic Crocodile Dundee series. He graced the red carpet at the premiere wearing a smart brown leather jacket paired with a black shirt and coordinating jeans.

He finished the ensemble with a leather belt and black trainers whilst posing for photographers at the occasion.
