Pop sensation Jessie J has joyfully announced "no cancer has spread", after previously disclosing her "early breast cancer" diagnosis earlier this year. The 37-year-old songstress, known offstage as Jessica Cornish, took to Instagram with an uplifting post featuring her son, captioning it with the reassuring words "mummy's going to be OK" as she shared her health update.
In her Instagram revelation, Jessie conveyed her relief and gratitude: "And I am OK, results = I have no cancer spread, happy tears are real." She continued to express her heartfelt thanks: "Thank you for the prayers, the love, the well wishes, the joy and all the positive energy."
Jessie also shared a touching video from the eve of her operation, saying: "This video is from the night before my surgery. We called it baby boy. You are my biggest ray of light and with you in my life, the darkness will never win."
Looking ahead, the Price Tag hitmaker acknowledged there's more recovery on the horizon: "Lots of healing to go and one more surgery to make these cousins look more like sisters, but for now, it's gratitude time, and I am changing my name to The LopJess monster."
Back in early June, Jessie candidly spoke about her health struggles, revealing her condition with a dose of humour: "I was diagnosed with early breast cancer." She added a light-hearted twist to her situation: "Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on to the word 'early'."
With characteristic wit, she remarked: "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music."
By going public with her diagnosis, Jessie aimed to not only come to terms with her own journey but also to stand in solidarity with others facing similar battles.
The London-born songstress gave birth to her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, in 2023, following a miscarriage in November 2021.
Throughout her life, the star has struggled with various health issues, including a heart condition diagnosed at age eight, a minor stroke at 18, and a brief period of deafness in 2020.
Last month, Jessie took to the stage at Capital's Summertime Ball, vowing to "beat" breast cancer.
The talented singer-songwriter has had an impressive run of success, with three UK number one singles - Domino, Price Tag, and Bang Bang.
In 2011, she scooped up four Mobo awards, including Best UK Act, Best Newcomer, Best Song for Do It Like A Dude, and Best Album for Who You Are, as well as the Brit Award for Rising Star.
