Sharon Osbourne has been dropped as an unofficial ambassador for homelessness charity Centrepoint after declaring her support for far-right activist Tommy Robinson. Former X Factor judge Sharon, 73, responded to a post about Robinson’s upcoming march for “those who have had enough of migration and mass immigration and the oppression from a tyrannical government”.
Now her career has suffered another blow, with Centrepoint confirming it has no further plans to work with her, after she supported its Omaze campaign.
A spokesperson said: “Sharon supported us on this campaign and, while she is referred to as an ambassador in that context, she was not an official ambassador for Centrepoint.
“We have no plans to work together in the future. Political activity like this runs counter to our values and our long history of supporting young people regardless of their background, religion or ethnicity.
"If we want young people to thrive in this country, then we need to ensure our society continues to allow them to live without fear and to access the opportunities they need to start education or work and leave homelessness behind."
Her support for Robinson – real name Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon – comes after his numerous convictions, including for assaulting an off-duty police officer in 2005 and for assault in 2011. He was later jailed for using a false passport in an attempt to enter America.
He returned to prison several times – in 2014 for “conspiring with others to obtain a mortgage by misrepresentation from the Abbey and Halifax banks” and then again in 2019 for contempt of court.
He was freed in 2025 midway through an 18-month prison sentence for breaching an injunction barring him from repeating false allegations against a Syrian refugee.
