Meghan Markle had everyone scratching their heads when she and Prince Harry attended an A-list Montecito bash over the weekend thrown by none other than Ted Sarandos, the Netflix co-chief executive, and his wife Nicole Avant, the former US ambassador to the Bahamas. It comes weeks after cutting ties with the streamer, as Meghan took “complete control” of her jam empire As Ever. Netflix had been a partner and invested in As Ever when it launched 12 months ago to sell jam, rosé wine and flower sprinkles.

The Duchess of Sussex broke with the streaming service after Netflix reportedly axed With Love, Meghan after just two series. In February this year, Sarandos also reportedly unfollowed As Ever on Instagram. However, he and the Sussexes have stressed there are no issues in their working relationship. The former business partners proved that if the photos shared Saturday night are anything to go by. Meghan and the Netflix CEO’s wife, Nicole, cosied up together in several pictures, with the duchess also posing alongside Sarandos.

Sources have claimed the relationship between the Sussexes and the Netflix boss have been fraught to say the least, with various reports suggesting the streaming platform "was done" with the royal couple.

Despite the rumours, Meghan and Prince attended the star-studded event and appeared very happy. To the outside world it looked as if the Duchess was spending time with her beloved friends. I couldn't imagine you would be linking arms and sharing smiles if it were the latter.

The celebration which was dubbed a "Tastemaker event" was to mark the release of season two of the Netflix series, aptly titled "Beef", which in slang terms often implies serious animosity or to have a disagreement with another.

Meghan has once again proved to critics once again, "What beef?" with her attendance quite fitting for the event.

In true Meghan fashion, she has seemingly avoided publicly disputing the claims by showing critics that all is well in her Hollywood circle.

The acclaimed series Beef, starring Carey Mulligan saw other A-listers at the party included Orlando Bloom, his ex-wife Katy Perry and her new boyfriend Justin Trudeau, the former Canadian prime minister, as well as actors Oscar Isaac and John Corbett.

While it may appear to some critics her time in Hollywood could be dwindling, it appears to be the exact opposite for the Sussexes.

Meghan and Harry don't seem to be done with Netflix, or more to the point, the streaming platform is not done with the couple.

Insiders claimed bosses at Netflix were fed up with the pair spokesperson says it is “absolutely inaccurate” that Sarandos made the comment. While a spokesperson for the Sussexes previously said, “‘With Love, Meghan’ will continue as seasonal specials.”

The couple is also now said to be helping Netflix develop a scripted drama series set in Florida following the lives of two rival polo-playing families.

Meghan's attendance has effectively shut down rumours that all is not well with Saranados. But either way, the pictures will certainly have her critics eating humble pie.
