President Donald Trump appeared "battered and exhausted" in Miami on Sunday as users on X speculated that the Iran war has finally begun to take its toll.
Trump's appearance reignited health concerns after he visibly struggled to settle into his seat following a round of golf.
Many speculated that the mounting pressure from the Iran conflict, which has caused significant disruption to global oil markets, had finally caught up with him. Just hours earlier, the White House confirmed that little to no headway had been made in negotiations between Vice President JD Vance and Iranian delegations, suggesting the Middle Eastern conflict is set to continue for some time yet.
"Trump was seen in Miami looking visibly drained, like the weight of it all is finally showing. And yet, it somehow feels like the very turmoil he represents has claimed the victory," one X user wrote.
The White House moved swiftly to quash speculation that President Trump was receiving treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, as concerns about his wellbeing swept across social media last Saturday.
The Republican president's physical fitness has remained a central issue throughout his second term, with Americans closely scrutinising his numerous public slip-ups, noticeable physical limitations, and disclosed health conditions.
Speculation surrounding the visit follows the White House's announcement at 11.08am on Saturday that the President would not be undertaking any public engagements for the rest of the day.
It represents an unusual move for President Trump, who typically travels to Mar-a-Lago at weekends to play golf.
The President's hands became the subject of considerable speculation throughout 2025, as he was periodically seen with substantial bruising on the backs of his hands and at other times with them visibly wrapped in bandages or covered with heavy makeup.
He was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency in July 2025, with his regular hand trembling and aspirin usage cited as causes for the bruising on his hand.
His face appears to sag markedly on one side at times, prompting concerns that he may have suffered a stroke.
Trump's tendency to fall asleep at public events sparked alarm, as did his relentless criticism of his predecessor, whom he branded "Sleepy Joe Biden."
