New tragic details about well-loved actress Subashini Balasubramaniyam have come to light after she reportedly took her own life on Sunday, just days before her 37th birthday. According to The Times of India, the Sri Lankan-born TV star ended her life in her Chennai apartment during a video call with her 38-year-old husband, Bipin Chandran, following a dispute.

Police told the publication that Subhashini, also known as Sasvibala, had rented the flat during shooting schedules for her upcoming project. They said she was speaking to her husband on Sunday evening when an argument broke out between them. The report also said that during a video call with Bipin, she took her own life.

Her husband contacted the apartment’s security team in a panic, who, in turn, called the Porur Police.

Officers attended the scene, recovered her body and took her to Poonamallee Government Hospital, where Subhashini was sadly pronounced dead.

Her body was later taken to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The Statesman reported that Porur Police have “launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death”.

It’s also understood that authorities have ordered an inquiry by a Revenue Divisional Officer, as the couple had been married for less than two years.

Following her death, which happened just weeks before her second wedding anniversary, Bipin said on social media: “Rest in Peace, My Love, My Bobba. Nobody has ever loved me as much as you did. I haven't loved anyone as much as I love you.

"Today, I can't believe that you are no more. You are filled with all memories, and you live within me. I feel your presence in everything I see, everything I feel. Why did you leave me?”

Tributes have continued to pour in from fans after hearing the heartbreaking news of her passing.
