
A child is believed to have died as a result of a dog bite, with police launching an investigation into the youngster's death.
Police arrived at a property on Hardale Drive, Dormanstown, Redcar, this afteroon (Thursday, 9 April) shortly after 1.30pm following "concerns for a child," Cleveland Police said. Armed officers killed a dog on the street while another dog at the property was recovered by the police. There is currently a scene in place while the force investigate the child's death.
District Commander, for Redcar and Cleveland, Emily Harrison said: “Understandably this is a distressing and tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the child’s family.
There is a scene in place at the address while an investigation into the child’s death begins. I would encourage anyone who has concerns or information to please speak to an officer.”
