The son of an I'm A Celebrity legend has been rushed to hospital following an overdose. Ashley Hamilton, son of acting icon George Hamilton, and former stepson of Rod Stewart, was reportedly discovered at an Airbnb property in Los Angeles after suffering an overdose-related medical emergency. The Iron Man 3 actor was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Thursday after emergency services responded to a call. Sources suggest that Ashley is now in a stable condition, according to American outlet TMZ.

Ashley, who wed the late Shannen Doherty after knowing her for just two weeks, made his acting debut in the 1993 film Beethoven's 2nd, before going on to appear in Lost in America, Off Key, Sunset Beach, and Iron Man 3. Hamilton was just 19 when he tied the knot with Doherty, though the marriage lasted a mere five months before the pair chose to go their separate ways. Ashley also featured in a major family reality series, in which his stepfather was none other than legendary rock star Sir Rod Stewart, who was married to his mother Alana Stewart.

Ashley, alongside his siblings Kimberly Stewart and Sean Stewart, appeared in the 2015 series Stewarts and Hamiltons.

In an episode of the series, an emotional George told Ashley, who was sober at the time: "I am very proud of you. There are about four times that we almost lost you in your life."

During the same episode, Ashley said in a confessional: "I went through a hard time with drugs and alcohol, it was so stupid. I blew everything but I have a second chance and I am going to give it everything I have got."

In December, Ashley admitted that he had gone through "two failed marriages, two failed careers, 32 rehabs, five overdoses, three flatlines, two comas, left side of my body paralyzed, brain surgery, spleen surgery of course, staph infection in the heart, gangrene of the arms, of course shootouts from drug deals gone bad and half a dozen arrests, all by the age of 22", in an interview for Soft White Underbelly.

George, meanwhile, took part in I'm A Celeb back in 2009, reports the Mirror.

During his stint in the jungle, he famously fell out with the Queen of Clean, the late Kim Woodburn, over camp duties, before choosing to walk out on Day 17, citing personal reasons.
