Prenell Rousseau, a superfan who had been stalking pop megastar Billie Eilish, has been killed by a train in Long Island. The 30-year-old was hit by the locomotive at 5.38am on Wednesday while jogging on or near the train tracks. According to the New York Post, his death appears to be accidental.

Rousseau made the news after repeatedly appearing at 24-year-old Eilish’s Los Angeles residence in 2020. The Blue singer and her family obtained a protection order against him after seeking legal recourse. The order was in effect for three years and covered the Grammy winner and her family. As part of it, her stalker was barred from contacting her or her mother and father, and he had to remain at least 100 yards away from her.

In court documents seen by the publication, Eilish claimed Rousseau would display “erratic behaviour” while coming to the home she shares with her family.

He reportedly appeared at her home seven times on May 4 and 5, until he was finally arrested for trespassing.

Rousseau rang on the doorbell and asked the music star’s father through the surveillance camera if she resided there. When the dad said he’d got the wrong home, he persisted.

Later that evening, the family called in private security when Rousseau returned.

“While we waited for security, Mr Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue,” Eilish said in court documents. “My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.”

The musician and her loved ones were scared of him in part because he was not wearing a face mask, and it was during the coronavirus pandemic.

Eilish was only 18 at the time of the ordeal whereas Rousseau was 24 years old.
