Amanda Owen has shared the realities of running Ravenseat farm as she shared an open and honest post to pay tribute to her children. She took to Instagram to talk about her children, Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy, who she shares with her ex-husband Clive. The children regularly help out at the beloved farm and it is a beloved place for them all, although it comes with their challenges.
The shepherdess, 51, discussed the struggles as she shared a video of her children on an easter egg hunt over the weekend, writing alongside the clip: "It can be all too easy to forget what makes this life, place and job so worthwhile and rewarding. When the rain is lashing down, the mud cloying and your body aches from the cold and sheer effort."
She continued: "Then, amongst the haste and confusion, for a fleeting moment you look outwards and acknowledge just how blessed you are to be here in this invigorating, inspiring and throughly infuriating place.
"I reckon that for the children, it’s this place and life that gives them an indomitable spirit and determination that will shape them well for the future, whatever path they choose, they will find their way.
"As long as they are moving forwards and they don’t fear looking over the next hill and to the horizon then the sky really is the limit. So go, go, go children, today the prize is chocolate eggs but one day..."
People rushed to the comments to praise Amanda, with one person saying: "Love this Amanda! We used to do this with our girls when they were "wee" and also at Christmas for advent. Great fun."
Another said: "Ooh Amanda these are such fabulous sentiments and perfect affirmations for arming your children to face whatever life throws at them. Simply brilliant parenting. Bravo."
A third said: "Just love how you do things for your family." While a fourth wrote: "What a cracking prize at the end, lovely hunt. Well done Amanda and girls x."
Amanda had also issued an Easter message to her followers as she reminded all: "Nothing worth having is easy got".
