A reality TV star has sadly died at the age of just 35 after shooting to fame in the Australian version of The Bachelorette. Konrad Bien-Stephen was also known for his stint on The Challenge Australia in 2022, making it to the semi-finals. Now his manager has sadly shared a heartbreaking statement.
His manager Ella Dolan confirmed: “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Konrad Bien-Stephen. We ask that you respect the privacy of their family during this incredibly difficult time. No further information will be shared at this stage. Our thoughts are with all who loved him.”
No cause of death has been revealed.
In 2021, Konrad began dating his Bachelorette co-star Abbie Chatfield, making headlines when they revealed they were in an open relationship. They split in 2022, and Konrad came out as pansexual. Outside of his TV work, Konrad was a carpenter, describing himself as “kinda broke, kinda thriving”.
Abbie has since broken her silence on Konrad’s tragic passing, and issued a statement which read: “I have seen the news of Konrad’s death, and I have known the news for a few days now. Thank you to the people reaching out to let me know or to send their support.
“Obviously this is an incredibly difficult and strange time for me, and I am devastated for Konrad, his friends and his family. And I am heartbroken too. Though we haven’t spoken for years, this is still incredibly difficult.
“Please send love and support to Konrad’s friends, family and loved ones. He has many, many people who love him and who he loves too.
“I am heartbroken for everyone in his life as I know how much he meant to them. And I’m sure to a lot of you, who never even met him.”
She described Konrad as “such a kind and sweet person to everyone”, and a “very caring man” who “deserved to live a very, very long life”.
She urged: “I know that Konrad would want people to share love and kindness, and if you do anything today, please check in on your mates, do an act of kindness, talk to a friend. Anything. Rest in peace Konrad.”
