
Donald Trump's claim King Charles would take a different position on the war in Iran has been met with a firm response from Buckingham Palace. The US President told The Telegraph he believed the monarch would "have taken a very different stand" on the conflict than the UK Government.
The US leader described the King as a "wonderful and brave man" who has "been through a lot" ahead of the monarch's state visit to the USA later this month. In response to Mr Trump's suggestion, Charles's stance would differ from that of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. Buckingham Palace told the Daily Beast, "The King is above politics."
