The 2026 Oscars ceremony may have lacked controversy in the winners' speeches, but the stars who attended certainly didn't hold back in the wardrobe department. A number of celebrities left jaws hanging as they walked down the red carpet in skimpy gowns made of transparent material, as they continued the naked dress trend, which has exploded over the last year.
It began this year at the Golden Globes, as actress Jennifer Lawrence appeared in a sheer gown embroidered with flowers. Chappell Roan joined the trend at the Grammys as she hung her frontless dress from her nipples on the red carpet. Other stars such as Sydney Sweeney, Dakota Johnson and Margot Robbie have also dared to bare in "naked dresses", as they all appear to compete about who can show the most skin.
