
Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martel Maxwell shared an emotional tribute after she received heartbreaking news. The BBC property expert, 49, honoured a "brilliant teacher", who sadly died aged 75. Stuart McCulloch headed the economics and business studies department at Dundee High School for 15 years and was widely regarded as a gifted and inspirational teacher.
Taking to X on Thursday, the mum-of-three reflected on her time being taught by the beloved teacher as she remembered him in a heartfelt post. Martel wrote: "A fitting tribute to a brilliant teacher - fun, funny, razor sharp, irreverent, unique.
I was 17, head of his HSD Young Enterprise. How we laughed..and learned. My pals and I loved him. My thoughts are with his lovely wife and family."
She linked back to an obituary dedicated to Stuart, who led the Young Enterprise programme.
Leading the tributes, Stuart’s wife Irene told The Courier: “Stuart had a unique style of teaching. The pupils were quite in awe of his ability to convey the theories in such a relatable way.
“I’m not saying that in a bragging way. I’m not at all – it’s simply a fact.
“He taught the subject in his own way and they all understood it, because economics is quite a hard subject.”
Martel has been a favourite among Homes Under The Hammer viewers since her debut in 2017.

She enjoys a serene family life in a self-built home in Scotland with her husband and three kids.
