Outlander season eight created quite the stir upon its arrival last week, delivering a startling revelation about Faith Fraser that has divided the fanbase.

The opening instalment entitled Soul of a Rebel also showcased an unexpected return of a significant character as the narrative comes full circle, reports the Daily Record.

Outlander is available to watch on the streaming service MGM+, which operates as an additional channel through Prime Video and requires subscriptions to both platforms to access episodes.

MGM+ has not confirmed a specific release time for Outlander episodes, though a viewer previously enquired on social media about viewing times for season seven, part two back in November 2024.

The official MGM+ account replied, according to TV Guide UK: "I've checked and Outlander will drop in the UK as soon as it's Saturday... (i.e. 00:01) so you can stay up late on Friday night to catch it first but no need for the 5am alarm."

Outlander season eight, episode two carries the title Prophecies and will premiere in the USA on Starz on Friday, March 13.

Subscribers to the Starz app can watch Prophecies from midnight on release day, according to USA Today. Prophecies will also air in a traditional broadcast format on Starz on Friday at 8pm Eastern Standard Time (E.T. ).

A brief synopsis accompanying the teaser preview for Prophecies states: " When a violent tragedy shakes the Ridge, the Frasers must lean [on] their new tenants to make the community whole again."

The preview shows Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and his wife Claire (Caitríona Balfe) discussing Frank Randall's (Tobias Menzies) book and how the historian failed to mention the men he fought alongside in battle.

Jamie confides in Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) about receiving counsel to eliminate Captain Charles Cunningham (Kieran Bew) and how the officer poses a "danger" to him.

Elsewhere, it appears Rachel Hunter (Izzy Meikle-Small) is approaching labour after becoming pregnant.

Peril also looms as a bear charges toward Brianna MacKenzie (Sophie Skelton), prompting her to discharge her rifle at the animal.

The preview concludes on a foreboding note as Claire declares: "There's nothing I can do."

Prophecies represents actress and executive producer Balfe's second directorial effort on Outlander.
