Beloved Countryfile star Julia Bradbury has opened up about "finding another lump," five years after her breast cancer diagnosis. The 55-year-old took to Instagram, where she shared that she discovered a lump on the back of her right shoulder and admitted to ignoring it. The star revealed a staggering statistic as she said: "I'm not alone in putting it at the back of my mind." Julia explained: "65% of midlifers are more likely to pay attention to road signs than to unusual signs from their own body."

Detailing her own heartbreaking experience, the mum of three captioned: "I was so overcome by a breast cancer diagnosis back then that I put this lump to the back of my mind (and I couldn't see it all the time because of its location.) Alongside a clip of her getting checked out professionally, Julia added: "Since then, I've had an MRI and found out I have something called a lipoma. (You should get anything over 5cm checked out, and mine is bigger.)"

Addressing her followers, Julia assured: "It's benign, luckily, but there is a small risk that it can transition into a rare cancer called lipoasarcoma, so I'm looking into having it removed. The outer membrane is damaged, and it's in an awkward place where it gets knocked around a lot.

She then advised: "Please don't put anything off. If you've been ignoring a lump or bump, or an ongoing headache or pain for a while, it's worth getting it checked!"

The presenter was inundated with support as one commented: "Thank you for sharing your story, Julia. It’s a powerful reminder that noticing and checking even small changes in your body can make all the difference."

A second added: "I found one too. Exactly same place as yours ... I’ve followed your story from the beginning and if it wasn’t for you and the support from my family and friends I would have given up. So, thank you, and please, ladies and gents, get everything checked!"

While filming for her new ITV series, the star was moved to tears as upon arrived at Paradise Harbour on the western tip of Antarctica. The trip proved to be an especially poignant moment for her; she realised just how far she'd come

"That’s when the tears started to roll down my face. After a breast cancer diagnosis and mastectomy in 2021, I didn’t think I’d ever be brave enough to leave the safety of my home and family to do something like this again.

"I was so weak physically, and so emotionally raw, that the idea of testing myself, of making this kind of TV show and being so far away from my partner and our children seemed impossible."

Julia added to the MailOnline: "I was sitting there thinking, 'When I’m old, this is something I want to tell my grandchildren about…' and that made me realise that I was living my second life, the one after cancer, to the full."
