Hospital patients and staff were evacuated after a fire broke out at a UK hospital on Thursday morning. Emergency services raced to a fire inside Weston General Hospital in Weston-super-Mare just after 5.30am.
The blaze prompted patients and staff in nearby wards to be evacuated. One witness said "all staff are outside still waiting instruction to go back in". There were "lots of sirens all morning" after a "fire in one of the wards" at the hospital, said another witness.
