Céline Dion has vowed that she will take to the stage once more, seven years after her final performance before her health struggles first began - all to sense her late father's spirit.

On Monday, the legendary vocalist posted a poignant birthday message to her dad Adhémar-Charles Dion, who died in 2003 aged 80, pledging to him that she would perform once again. Writing a message in French, she emotionally said: "Dear Dad... There is not a single day that I do not think of you." The 57-year-old fondly reminisced: "I will never forget when you came to my performances. You would give me standing ovations for each of my songs and Mom would always tug on your jacket to make you sit down," she remembered, referring to her mother Thérèse Dion, who died in 2020. The My Heart Will Go On icon also shared that she recognises his features daily in her children - Rene-Charles, 25, and 15-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy - and in her own reflection in the mirror.

She then shared an update on her career, as she shared plans to perform again in the future. "I love you, and when I get back on stage, I know you will be there," she said.

The celebrated artist's final concert took place on July 5, 2019, at Hyde Park in London. In 2022, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome - a rare autoimmune neurological condition that substantially affected her capacity to perform.

Dion has previously stated that the condition has significantly affected virtually all facets of her everyday existence, particularly her capacity to take to the stage and perform vocally.

In 2024, she cancelled her Courage World Tour as she admitted to supporters that she was not prepared to return to the stage.

Recently, a resurfaced clip of Dion shaking and crying uncontrollably reignited concerns amongst her fans. The harrowing footage showed the iconic vocalist evidently trembling and grappling with involuntary movements whilst being filmed.

The clip, which has lately spread across social media platforms, originates from Dion's intimate documentary I Am: Celine Dion and showcases a distressing episode during her continuous medical struggle.
