Superstar Rod Stewart delighted fans as he made a huge career announcement. The Do Ya Think I'm Sexy hitmaker took to Instagram to share that he will be putting on an extra show this summer.
Sharing a promo snap from his Rod Stewart in Concert tour, the 81-year-old musician wrote: "California, I have added another show this summer. I will be playing Aqua Caliente Casino in Racho Mirage, CA on June 21. Tickets on sale Friday 10amPT." His 1.7million social media followers were delighted with the update. In the comments, one enthused: "YAY! Rock on Sir Rod." Another added: "Rod my hero number one you are fantastic singer," and someone else echoed: "Sir Rod Stewart, you are great." It comes as Rod's wife, Penny Lancaster, recently shared some concerns over the octogenarian's health. She revealed that her husband "is in the doctors all the time" after overcoming several health challenges.
He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000 and prostate cancer in 2017. He is now in remission for both.
The ladies kicked off the ITV daytime programme by debating the topic "have you put off visiting the GP?". As Gloria opened up on her recent hospital visit, Penny said she thinks men are the "worst culprits" for not going to see the doctor.
The model said: "When it comes to men in particular I think that they're the worst culprits. My husband, who is 81 now, has just gone off on tour again, would you believe it? Fitness freak, always been fit and healthy.

"I think that's why he's sort of survived the rock and roll years because he wanted to always be fit for a Sunday morning football game. But 26 years ago, when he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, that was a huge shock to him and then prostate cancer about 10 years ago.
"Once you have cancer as a diagnosis it's like a little black shadow that's hangs over you. So he's in the doctors all the time so he doesn't waste time. He's in the gym, he's at the doctor's, he wants to go on forever."
She continued: "He takes weights to the bottom of pool. He said it was Frank Sinatra who told him to help with the lung capacity, swim underwater, train underwater, so that's why he does it."
