A star from Strictly Come Dancing has been interviewed by the police under caution in connection with a rape allegation. The male suspect, who has not been named for legal reasons, was also reportedly interviewed over allegations involving "non-consensual intimate image abuse". The former contestant was questioned two weeks ago as part of the police's investigation following his arrest last August.

The BBC confirmed at the time that there is an "ongoing police investigation". The suspect was released on bail after he was questioned on February 17. The alleged rape victim is currently being supported by specialist officers. His arrest marked yet another scandal to hit the BBC show and came as the corporation launched an investigation into the alleged drug use by two stars of the show.

In regards to the latest development, a source told The Sun: "The star had to return to a police station for questioning, along with his solicitor.

"It shows that the police are taking it extremely seriously as they do with all allegations of this nature.

"Clearly, the wellbeing of the alleged victim is paramount, but this is also a nightmare for Strictly and the BBC.

They added: "Top figures at the Beeb and the show are keeping very close tabs on this and have asked to be kept informed of all developments. Although the case is not linked to the show, they are following it closely."

The Metropolitan Police said: “On Tuesday, 17 February, a man was interviewed under caution in connection with a report of rape and non-consensual intimate image abuse.

"This follows his arrest in East London on 22 August 2025. He was further bailed following the interview, and his bail will be extended while inquiries are ongoing.”

A BBC spokesman added: "It wouldn’t be appropriate for us to comment on an ongoing police investigation."

A Met spokesman said at the time: "On Friday, August 22, officers arrested a man on suspicion of rape and non-consensual intimate image abuse.

"This is a joint investigation and while the investigation is in its early stages, we urge anyone with any information to come forward to us."
