TV personalities Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross and are two of the most well known television presenters in the UK. Across the last few decades, the pair have interviewed famous people from all areas of the celebrity world.

However, there has long been a sense of a competition between Jonathan and Graham, especially given the pair's incredible ability to pull in viewing figures.

Jonathan, 65, has commented about the competitiveness between the duo of them, especially following Jonathan's move to ITV.

When he was asked who got better guests by the Times, Jonathan enquired what was meant by better, to which the response was whether Graham, 62, got bigger names.

In response, Jonathan said: "He gets American names. And I am not quite sure why that is."

The TV personality was then asked whether Graham's figures are bigger than his. Jonathan replied that whilst on first viewing they might be bigger, that on catch-up the numbers are more closely matched, noting that his own show was in good health.

He explained: "They are slightly better but on catch-up we are about the same. Last week, for example, our show beat the BBC until the news came on.

"So it's a healthy show. I don't think his figures are much better than mine, but I think they have a better relationship with the studios and by better I mean more conciliatory."

Jonathan's analysis of his career comes after it was announced that he would form part of a new Channel 4 show that will hit televisions later this year.

Handcuffed, as the show is known, will be fronted by the Celebrity Traitors star participant. It will see eight pairs of strangers with different opinions and beliefs, and handcuff them together in a test of survival, reports the Mirror.

What's more, they'll be taken on a trip around the UK in the hope of finding common ground as they fight for the £100,000 prize at the end.

There's a catch, however, if the participants opposing views get int he way and they ask to be unchained they lose out on their shot at the end prize.

Speaking about the show, Jonathan said: "I believe this experiment will go a small way to healing a fractured Britain; after all, to know is to love. I'm rooting for our couples to go the distance and not let our differences overpower us."

Meanwhile, Commissioning Editor Tim Hancock added: "Funny, intense, and featuring a cast reflecting a truly diverse range of British characters, this is the kind of social experiment you'd only see on Channel 4.

"The series aims to capture modern Britain by examining its divisions and hopefully helping mend some of them too."
