Presenter Susanna Reid has issued a health update after being absent from her hosting duties on Good Morning Britain. The 55-year-old ITV star shared that she is suffering from vertigo and feels like "everything is spinning" as she returned to her role next to Ed Balls

Posting to X, formerly Twitter, Susanna shared a selfie with her co-star in the studio as she captioned it: "BACK IN THE STUDIO! After a lovely break, we are back and I have mild vertigo so everything is spinning - let me know any tips for regaining my balance. Steady @edballs is standing by in case I tip over." When on air, she added: "It is good to be back in the studio after a nice week off, but I have to warn you, I have vertigo. Which means that everything is spinning. It's a very strange experience. It feels like I drank too much last night, but as you know I don't drink."

According to the NHS website: "Vertigo feels like you or everything around you is spinning – enough to affect your balance. It's more than just feeling dizzy.

"A vertigo attack can last from a few seconds to hours. If you have severe vertigo, it can last for many days or months. Most people with vertigo get better without treatment."

Replying to her post on social media, some fans were delighted to see Susanna back in her usual spot, as they wished her well.

"Good to see you back Ms Reid, on TV this morning, sharing a news platform with Mr Balls," one wrote.

Another added: "Good morning, have a beautiful, happy Monday. Great to have you back, Susanna. I just hope your spinning just stops, absolutely fabulous, lovely picture, lovely."

"Just remember you're paid £1,100,000 a year by the ITV Network for working three mornings a week. That'll calm your nerves. Oh, and it's only a few weeks before you'll be heading off for another lovely break at Easter."

At the end of the programme on February 11, she told fans: “Good Morning Britain back from 6am tomorrow, and now it’s time for Lorraine. And I’ll see you after half- term”.
