Prince Harry has been accused of showing his true feelings towards his wife Meghan Markle with one on-camera move. The royal couple were sitting courtside at the NBA All-Star game at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, this weekend. Also in attendance were celebrities including rapper Queen Latifah and comedian Chris Tucker.
It was as Harry got up out of his seat to greet Tucker that viewers worried he had left Meghan behind. One clip showed Harry, dressed in a slate grey button-up shirt and a blue baseball cap, getting out of his seat and pressing one hand to his heart while he spoke to Tucker.
The pair seemed cosy, with Meghan touching Harry’s arm and encouraging him to wave to the waiting cameras, while leaning into her husband.
But viewers weren’t impressed by the “coordinated” display, with one tweeting: “Harry seemed more excited chatting with Chris Tucker than sitting next to Meghan. The moment he returned to his seat, she kept nudging him, cueing the smiles for the cameras.
“It all feels very coordinated, like PR behind the scenes making sure to capture perfect shots.”
Someone else speculated: “Harry has said that he would never want to be a celebrity, or seen as a celebrity, because it's very different than being a royal. We saw his discomfort with the Jenner party photos. I sense that he is very uncomfortable here. He wants to be at the game, but he doesn't want to be with her at the game because she loves the camera. She can't get enough of it.”
Others rushed to support the couple, however, with one writing: “Oh my god leave them alone, they're happy together.”
